730 days ago, I made my first post on here. I knew that I wanted to get back into writing in a semi-regular fashion, but I didn't really know exactly what I wanted to write about. So, I decided to write about whatever I felt like. And, two years later, I'm still invested in keeping this here blog going. I've sometimes not written quite as frequently as I'd have liked, but I've not left content droughts lasting months at a time, and I'm fairly happy with that. And I think this is now my longest-running stint at blogging, and I'm glad to have stuck with it. It's been a really useful outlet for me in many ways these past two years.
Let's take a quick look back at some key metrics, analytics and fun facts from the site's history so far:
Scores on the doors!
49 articles
averaging at a new post every 14.8 days. That's not actually as bad as I thought it might be.
2303 views, and 358 article likes
(thanks a bunch!)
539 unique visitors
I'm not even sure I know 539 people, so I'm taking that as a victory.
Readership from 14 countries
Well... I wasn't expecting this one. In order of the number of unique site visitors:
United Kingdom
United States
Canada
Pakistan
Russia
Australia
India
Poland
Colombia
Barbados
Venezuela
Belgium
Italy
Germany
67% Mobile viewers / 33% PC viewers
I'm actually surprised that the mobile viewership isn't higher! I will say that the full desktop view of the site features much more visual bells and whistles, so do check it out if you get the chance!
2 rebrands
I am so glad I changed the colour palette in my later revisions. Also just like Facebook, I dropped "the" from the title, as it was never part of the URL, so I wanted to avoid confusion.

Wow, I guess you guys like to read about my misery, huh? Nah, I get it though. I appreciate the support when it comes to more personal posts. It's also quite cathartic to write that sort of thing every now and then - it's a useful outlet for articulating troubling times and experiences for sure.
Least-viewed article
[20 views at the time of writing]
Hardly surprising. Not much to say about this one really. I was also pretty poor at sharing my own articles back when the blog was new, so I only really have myself to blame here!
Strangest day of random site activity
August 10th, 2021
I didn't post on this day, nor did I make any blog-related posts on social media. And yet, I experienced an unexplained spike of 63 site views. Your guess is as good as mine.
So - what can you expect from Commentary Cemetery going forward? Well... more of the same somewhat sporadic musings on whatever grabs me. I thank you for joining me on my journey thus far, and I hope that you continue to read, and support the site where thoughts go to die.
